Muxagata is a small village that offers many options for casual strolls, more vigorous hikes, or even running/biking for the more adventurous. Turning right out of the gate will take you down several dirt roads that wind between stone walls and farms around the town. You can also stroll through the cobblestoned streets and enjoy the quaintness of the village with its ancient church, fountain, and stone houses.











The Biodiversity Station (EBIO) of Ribeira da Muxagata is a pedestrian trail of almost 3 km with 8 panels scattered along the way, presenting information on local flora and fauna. The trail begins along Muxagata creek and terminates at the Mondego River. The terrain is level and the hike is easy.
Very nice local beach on the river that includes floating pools with an on-duty lifeguard, sand sunbathing area, picnic area, snack bar, and restrooms. There are also kayaks and paddle boats available for use.
